Saturday 9 April, the window of the Asian Film Festival opened to South Korean cinema. Thanks to the collaboration with the Korean Cultural Institute in Italy, the Korean Day was held, which saw the programming of four works, three of which were an absolute preview for Italy. These are Shin Dong-min’s Mom’s Song, Kwak Min-seung’s Rolling and Lee Seung-won’s Three Sisters, in competition, and Lee Ran-hee’s A Leave, included in the “Newcomers” section that the festival dedicates to its beginnings and young directors. The Director of the Korean Cultural Institute, Chun Ye Jin, attended the evening screening, saying: “I am delighted that Korean films can be presented through the ‘Korean Day’ of the Asian Film Festival. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the audience. Italian for the interest and love shown towards Korean cinema. The Korean Cultural Institute will engage in the organization of Korean cinema screenings at the Institute and in collaborations with Italian film festivals so that the Italian public can have greater opportunities to enjoy a wide range of Korean films “.
